Green FM launches showcase of Cavite broadcasters

When DWSU 95.9 Green FM, the university radio station of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), officially launches its new semester programming on October 2-6, 2017, audiences not only from DLSU-D and Dasmariñas but from neighboring towns will be treated to a showcase of student and university broadcasters from Cavite.

On its 12th year as a National Telecommunications Commission-recognized premier college radio in Cavite, Green FM will present radio voice talents from the Broadcast Journalism and Communication programs of the DLSU-D Communication and Journalism Department, as well as key personalities from the university.

An ongoing audition campaign for new voices of the college radio station is expected to gather more unique talents from the seven colleges of DLSU-D to add to the current station talent pool.

Fresh production concepts and techniques for new and re-energized programming for music and entertainment, news, and public affairs, can be expected from the new student management team for the school year 2017-2018 led by Program Director Jericho Aguiatan, a Broadcast Journalism senior.

New radio shows this semester include the Animo Countdown of hit songs, Animo Half Time sports news and interviews, Dasma News community updates, and the Senior High School shows by La Estrella Verde.


Returning shows include Live – a tie-up with the international website, Eco Radio by sustainability champions from the Environmental Resource Management Center, Airwaves Research by librarians on air, and Ed Tech Talks by the Microsoft e-learning educators from the Center for Innovative Learning Programs.

The Cavite radio station will also be bringing back on air Rosanni Recreo-Sarile, Luzon representative to the Subcommission on the Arts of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, together with Cavite culture specialist Jeffrey Lubang on the Radyo Kultura show.

Cavite’s premier college radio is also coming back with DZUP Special Features with Green FM – its Simulcast radio show partnership with DZUP 1602 AM Mega Manila, the longest-running college radio station in the country based at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Green FM will also be leading the new school year’s made-for-television radio productions to be aired on the Animo Channel via Planet Cable ETV Channel 8 and members of the Cable Operators Association of Cavite.
